Honestly, we have been at work all day long and the last thing that our mind craves is spending some time in the kitchen. What we desire is something good, easy and fast. Sounds familiar?
That is precisely the reason I compiled this list of 10 fast and simple dinner recipes which are ideal normal working night. Cooking your food on your own, with your family or simply a hot and spicy meal after a busy day? These recipes will come to your rescue. No fancy ingredients, no tricks of a chef is required, only wholesome, heart-warming food.

1. Vegetable Upma – The Quick Fixes
Let’s take it from the south Indian favorite first! Upma is a comforting, it done within 15 minutes very easily.
Ingredients :
- Rava (Any type of Rava),
- Cutting Vegetables (like onion, carrot)
- curry leaves,
- green chilli.
Quick tip - Roast the rava in advance and store it. This way it is ready to cook at any time.
I actually go back to it when I'm late coming home and I want something comforting but not heavy.
- Paneer,
- Onions,
- Tomatoes,
- Green Chillies,
- Turmeric and
- Garam masala.
Accompany with:- Rotis or toast.
When I was in college I would make this every other day, it was cheap, satiating, and it was never dull.
- Maggi noodles,
- onion,
- capsicum,
- peas,
- tomatoes and a
- touch of chaat masala.
Pro Tip: Sprinkle some grated cheese over the top- melt it in, and it becomes addicting.
Ideal when you want to cut down since you are too tired and can only open one packet.
